Night sweats may not go away once you have a TT. I had one done 19yrs ago, & night sweats are still here....Of course I have had night sweats for as long as I can remember. I am 43 & just had a full hysterectomy, I was immediately put on HRT patch & still night sweats & chills...
I am so used to them that now I just get a beach towel to lay on my bed...
A TSH of .11 combined with your symptoms would suggest that you are hyperthyroid. Are you taking thyroid medication for hypothyroidism (e.g. Synthroid)? If so, your dosage may be too high. If not, I suggest you go back to your doctor to have a repeat TSH, free T4 and free T3 test done. If those tests indicate hyperthyroidism, you will probably have more tests done to determine why and then appropriate treatment options will be discussed with you.
Hi. You mentioned that you can't take hormones. I am assuming that you mean estrogens or progesterone for HRT. May I ask why? I will say that I have been getting night sweats terribly and am just now getting severe palpitations, especially after I eat something. I am about to have my thyroid removed because of nodules and hereditary factors. I just called my doctor about the palpitations because they are very annoying and draining and they told me this is something caused by a bad thyroid. The aren't going to do anything because I am getting the thyroid out and just have to hang in there for 2 weeks. So I would make sure you have the entire panel of thyroid tests plus an ultrasound. I have nodules and cysts that are getting bigger.
are you of menopause age?
menopause can cause hot flashes
