medication

Hi I have posted a couple of questions about methimazole in the past, i have weaned down from 10mg to 2.5mg and last sunday i stopped taking it. I feel different i have a lot of pressure in my head and feel off balance. how long does the medication take to leave my body after i stopped taking it last Sunday. Is there any changes my body will go threw. I dont know if i am having anxiety from not taking the medication or is it my body adjusting to not taking the methimazole? I have had normal labs for over 2 years on the methimazole. Thanks for your time and happy holidays.

it may be a period of a few weeks to see if you will do well off the methimazole.  It leaves the body in a few days.  Rechecking thyroid labs in a few weeks would be reassuring that being completely off is okay at this point.

to GiGi27, yes surgery is the best option for hyperpara.  some medications may help a bit but an experienced surgeon is the best cure.
