quit armour

I was recently put on armour thryoid 30mg because I had hair loss. I've been on it for just one month and have gained 7 pounds. I plan to go back to my original primary care doctor in one week. In the meantime I would like to know if I can stop armour immediately.

This is a VERY low dose. you should be starting on a dose of 60mgs and raising be 30 mgs every two weeks! One month on 30mgs?! i would have died. really. ouch.

i am now on 265 mgs of Armour, an AVERAGE dose. Please do some research regarding Armour dosing before you get hurt. www.stopthethyroidmadness.com has the best info for dosing Armour. You can print it out and show your doctor.

And make sure you are checking Free t3 and Free t4 and ferritin.

Would look at labs to see if you were hypo, if not, then stopping this relatively low dose of armour would not be a problem. But ask your doctor about the labs.
