radiation worries
Hello I am really worried about my radiation exposure.  I've have 8 CT scans, 3 with contrast, and I'm due for another one soon.  I have also had a nuclear medicine scan where radiation was injected intraveniously.  I can't stand thinking about how I've had the equal to thousands of xrays and that I may get cancer.  I'm only 28 and have a long time for something to happen.   I know most people say it's safe but they're not the ones who have got the scans.   Do you think all this radiation is setting me up for leukemia or something?    Should I avoid more CT scans unless absolutely there is no other choice?

Very low risk with diagnostic x-rays.  Of course, I would avoid extra tests unless the results may change treatment plans.
