scared

Ok...about a year ago my TSH was0.010, T-uptake was 40.0, T4 was 13.9 and my Free Thyroxine Index was 5.6.  My regular dr told me to go to an Endocrinologist but I am scared and haven't gone yet.  I suffer from panic attacks just going for a regular check up.  I am so afraid they will have to do surgery and be put in the hospital.
I do have some symptoms of hyperthyroidism and I want to know why my family doctor (who knows me and all of my quirkiness) can't treat me?
My hair just started to thin out...how much will fall out if untreated for hyperthyroidism?  Will it regrow?
YIKES...I am a wreck...please share some advise!

Believe me the panic attacks are related to the hyperthyroid because I had them too and now with the beta blocker I was put on they have stopped.  See the endocrinologist.  Believe me any treatment to stop the symptoms are essential.  I have been experiencing , in my opinion, severe symptoms and the beta blockers have helped immensely to control the symptoms.  I am talking to my doctor almost daily because my shakiness, increased heart rate and increased blood pressure  continue to be off and on  all day---I have had to up my dose on the beta blocker 3 times so far--after the thyroid scan that I am having today I will start the anti-thyroid meds.  I was exercising intensely and lifting weights less than 3 weeks ago and now I am almost a couch potato because of my increasing heart rate and chest pressure.  Don't wait to see you doctor.your symptoms may get worse if you do.  About a month ago I noticed my hands were shakey with fine motor stuff in the morning and I blamed it on my morning coffee...now I can't even drink the stuff because my heart rate is high enough.

You should go to the endocrinologist to have this checked as you likely need treatment for HYPERthyroidism.  Hair loss can be caused by this.
