I had the same problems as you with the hair falling out, and I also had problems with what we all call brain fog, as well as sleeping problems.  I was on Levo for several years with levels in the normal range, and asked my doctor to switch me to Armour.  Since the switch these problems for me have stopped.  Although I don't have thyroid cancer.  I found that if you do a search on the web for Armour you will find there site and they do have a conversion chart for switching to Armour.  Good luck,
Valarie

Hi,
I am on Levoxyl (equivalent to synthroid) and my hair is falling out. I was diagnosed w/ thyroid cancer, so I have to be on this hormone as my entire thyroid was removed. I am so sad, I heard that armour is better for this problem. I hope so!!

Thanks for reply! Since I started thyroxine, I have felt better than I did, but not as good as I used to before Hypo. was diagnosed, also my hair seems to have stopped growing, and weight is difficult to shift, never had these sort of problems before.
I am staying on thyroxine for now but I just feel that I would like to try something else, not easy in the UK, Armour is outside the NHS.
Do you find Synthroid OK for you?

100mcg of levothyroxine is about 60mg of armour -- you need to work with a doctor to make sure the conversion works out for you and that labs are appropriate.

I was curious why you are wanting to switch to Armour?  What is the difference?  I am on 100 mcg of Synthroid and have Fibro.
