thyroglobulin numbers
My number came back at 704. No previous testing has benn done.
I have not been diagnosed with anything yet.
I do have two large goiters.
I see the endocrinolgist on 10/3 but wanted to get some info before then.
What can this high number mean? Graves or thyroid cancer?

if it is the thyroglobulin quantitative level (ie, not the antibody) then it simply means there is excess thyroid tissue (goiter - in your case, nodular goiter from what you are describing). It cannot be used to suggest cancer vs benign. Biopsy would be indicated if there are large nodules.
If it is antibody level - then it could mean autoimmune thyroid disease, would need to look at TSH to see if the thyroid hormone production is normal.

Hi, It means you have either Hashimoto or Graves Autoimmune disease..Do you mean by two large goiters (Noduals)?..... Dawn.
