thyroid ultra sound

I had thyroid ultrasound done and came with thyroid is normal in size 3.5 X 1.6 X 1.4 on right and 3.2 X 1.0 X 1.5 o1.9 nodule left. Also 1.9 cm nodule within the mid/inferior posterior aspect of the right lobe.
Result is saying correlation with thyroid function tests and nuclear medicine imaging is adviseed.Biopsy may also be indicated.
Can you please advise what to do in this.
My THS 3RD is 5.63
Thankyou

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Nuclear imaging is not necessary.  Next step is FNA biopsy of the nodule under ultrasound guidance and evaluation  for hypothyroidism with possible use of thyroid replacement medications if hypothyroid (high TSH) is confirmed (usually repeat TSH 6 weeks after the abnormality is noted) before committing someone to what is usually lifelong meds.
