thyroid ultrasound

worried any words of support or help would be good.

I just had a ultrasound scan of my long standing goitre, it measures on the right side 1.9 x 4.9 x1.3 and on the left
5.1 x 2 x 8.5cm the left lobe and the isthmus of the thyroid are enlarged. an 8mm slightly hyperechoic nodule is seen in the lower pole of the right lobe of the thyroid. two large nodules are seen in the isthmus towards the left lobe and the lower poleof the left lobe of the thyroid measuring 2.9 x 4.2 in diameter respectively

both the nodules appear well defined, solid and slightly hyperechoic in appearance. diffuse heterogeneous appearance of the entire left lobe of the thyroid is noted. increased vascularity is seen around the nodules on colour doppler examination. the parathyroids were not visualised. no significant cervical lymphadenopathy is noted

my thyroid has been growing slowly, I can feel it in my throut on the left side it chokes me at any time of the day it makes me reach for it at times, I dont like going swimming it seems to get bad with the cold water, I have hashomintos as well, I have these kind of sick spells like being really run down and sick. i have really bad headaches, my hair is not great

I did have a FNA biospy done 3 years ago but there is a large family history of cancer, should I need the FNA again.

more blood tests will be done today for auto immune and others.

Thank you for your time doctor.

Would test thyroid function (TSH) and antibodies -- part of this may be Hashimoto's.  But the nodule(s) need FNA biopsy to make sure okay to monitor as 5-10% of nodules are cancer -- but remember, most are benign.
