I would get a secound opinion and also request to have a biopsy done on the existing cyst of the thyroid.  Have you had your pituitary gland checked out? I have many similar symtom you have but my cyst is smaller and I have a solid mass on the other side of thyroid. I also have a mild pituitary adnoma that showed up on an mri of my head because of visual problems and headaches, etc. I would not wait a year for further evaluation, if you are in pain then be an advocate for yourself and try another doctor who is more aggressive in treatment and testing. May God be with you and yours, Good luck, spatalie

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
A 3mm cyst requires no further evaluation except repeat ultrasound in 12-18 months.
If TSH is normal, then this is not likely a thyroid issue.
