Vit D levels less than 20 are significant. Would look at your calcium level -- if low or low-normal then this is straight-forward vit D deficiency and would look into malabsorption (like celiac sprue) as cause. If calcium is high or high-normal, then look at possible parathyroid (primary) problem as a contributor. Symtpoms can be fatigue, depression, bone/joint pain.
