28 and can't grow mustache

by need help bad, Jan 17, 2006 12:00AM
Hello I am a 28 year old white male, I have never been able to grow a mustache (my upper lip is smoothe like a woman's).   I also can't grow much of a beard either, but I do have pretty thick stubble on my chin.   I was just wondering 1-what type of hormone imbalance is this   and 2-can this be related to some endo problem developing later in life (I have had a normal TSH but I still have symptoms like unexplained weight gain, headaches, and shortness of breath)      I kindly request your opinion even though I know you can't diagnose me.  thanks

probably not thyroid - would check testosterone level -- may simply be that you don't have adequate hair follicles on the upper lip/side-burns to grow a beard/mustache -- would not take this as a hormone imbalance -- but would test testosterone level to make sure that's okay.

Have you noticed no new posts since Sunday? And very few comments, either. And I think some posts are disappearing - one of the threads up a little higher has several people thanking Chocobabe, but no posts/comments FROM Chocobabe. Any idea what's happening????

Yes I have...I think there is some whole questions missing. If you go through the comments on most questions, they are numbered & they skip sequence. Also Ms Hypo was having a debate with Tabtools & I posted a remark & I can't find it anywhere. I can't even find the question. ?????? In fact I can not find any recent posts from Chocobabe & only one from Mshypo. Hashiman is posting. I noticed he posted today. I don't know what's happening. I just got a new computer & I'm having alittle bit of difficulty uploading the site info.. I don't seem to be able to go into a question unless I go through the archives & post (that's why all the messages with Test) then once the board re-uploads I can get into the threads. I don't know if it's my computer blocking something or the web site. I wrote to medhelp international & they said they weren't having any difficulties.

But the rest of the threads missing??????? I don't have a clue.
I do know I tried to post a question (just to see if it's working) & it said the quata had been filled for the day, even though there's no questions displayed for quite a few days. I wonder if Dr Mark is out of town or on vacation or somethin... but that doesn't account for the missing threads.

I hope you read my apology about the Armour advocate post. I wasn't intended for you. You provide info & address the issues w/knowledge & courtesy, which is more than I can say for a couple of others. I should have addressed it more appropiately...sorry
                          God Bless, Jean

You know if Dr. Mark is out of town of something it would be nice if medhelp would post some kind of info, other wise it just keeps everyone hanging.            Jean

Yes, I did read the apology - I don't take offense very often anyway, so don't worry about it! I agree, I wish MedHelp would let us know if Dr. Mark is not around. But the missing stuff is definitely weird!

You're right about the missing thread, I guess we'll find out what's going on soon.
I sometimes wonder if Med-Help is getting enough donations to maintain this forum. I've donated once, in early 2005 but need to do so again.
ALSO: Ancientmariner, hope you saw my post saying I appreciated your politeness, even when debating a subject. I feel badly that I went off on Mshypo a few days ago. I'm determined I'll never do that again, to anybody! My disagreements are almost never in what is said but in the way in which it is said.
I hope everyone accepts my apology. I really do believe Mshypo is a sincere, good person, with firm beliefs!

I agree - I think mshypo is really a good person, and is just trying to help out other people, to keep them from going through what she did. From some of her posts, it's clear that she has done a ton of research on thyroid-related issues. So she KNOWS what she's talking about, and when she tells you something, she means it!
