7 days on Levothyroxine. Could side effects still occur?

by ThyroLo, Nov 30, 2005 12:00AM
Hello. I have been on Levo. 44 mcgs for 7 days now with NO side effects. I am going to titrate up to the prescribed dose of 88 mcgs. Have should I titrate up? I am 260 lbs and my TSH was 13.9. Should I just start the whole pill?(full 88 mcg) right away, or take a full pill every other day, and a half pill in between for a week or so? Many thanks for your time. It is greatly appreciated. I am afraid of the cardiac side effects.

If I recall your history, may be best to alternate 44 with 88 for 2 weeks then if feeling okay go to 88 a day -- it may not be the right long term dose but a TSH level after 6 weeks on 88 daily will help in that determination.
