Hello.  I have a couple of questions.  I currently take synthroid, I also have low ferritin and vitamin D levels.  When I take iron and "D", even while separating from the thyroid med by 6 hours, I need an increase in synthroid.  Could it be that maybe I really need the higher level of synthroid, and by treating the low d & ferritin levels, it is allowing me to take more.  Also, do you think that it is important to treat all the low levels simultaneously.  What do you like for the ferritin & "D" levels to be?

Ferritin  9  (10-250)
D          23  (32 - 100)

Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for the input.

It is best to separate the iron by at least 4 hours as you have done.
It is not likely that taking iron and vitamin d allows you to take more synthroid.  It is more likely that there may be some interference with absorption and if the TSH is higher, the synthroid dose should be increased.
I like to see Vitamin D levels of 40 or greater if being replaced.
Ferritin goals may depend as well on iron levels, but many suggest 50 or greated, some 80 or greater -- I do not have as much experience with ferritin goals.
