Antithyroid Antibodies

Hi - this is a follow-up to a message below. Do you usually suggest a treatment for high levels of antithyroid antibodies if the patient has no hypo or hyper thyroid symptoms and a TSH level within range, but it trying to get pregnant? I have read that aspirin, heparin and selenium can help reduce the antibodies. If they are not treated, won't they just continue to attack the thyroid? Thank you.

selenium may help - but has not been studied thoroughly in pregnancy. Would not suggest heparin.  Aspirin may be of little benefit. They do continue to attack even with treatment in most cases.

See other response as well.
