Could I be miscarrying b/c of Hashimottos disease?

Hello.  I am a 30 year old female who has been trying to conceive for 2 1/2 years now.  I have gotten pregnant after seeing an infertility specialist using the drug clomid and artificial insemination.  As soon as I was pregnant the hCG numbers were low and did not double as they should have.  I ended up miscarrying at 8 weeks.   A year later (now) I got pregnant using in-vitro fertilization.  The same thing is happening...I have low hCG numbers and they are not doubling..... Could this be b/c og my antibodies....they are elevated...My TSH is 1.23, T3  1.5 thyroblobulin AB is 75 and the other antibody test is also elevated (I didn't get the numbers yet).....Could this be my reason for miscarrying... I don't have any other health issues and my doctors are puzzled on why things are not working....could you please help me???? Thank you soooo much.....Jacquie

Positive antibodies are associated with increased miscarriage and a recent study suggested that levothyroxine treatment (even with normal TSH) decreases the miscarriage rate.

I have Hashimotos as well.. I went from Hyperthyroid to Hypothyroid for years.. from skinny to not being able to lose weight.. I had no problem in getting pregnant.. it was staying pregnant that was the problem.  my old doc was only testing for one thing. not the whole panel .. finally.. after multiple m/c's.. a specialist told me all I needed to know... I was put on Armour thyroid.. and wow.. the difference. Have you gone to stopthethyroidmadness? its a great site..and so very informative.. I am currently 23-24 weeks pregnant.. and my thyroid is doing just fine.. I do believe that my thyroid condition certainly had alot to do with the tragic m/c's I have experienced..  in fact.. no doubt in my mind about it. Today.. my children.. my dh and I are are so very grateful that we finally found a great doc and a wonderful endo doc.. sticky.. very sticky baby dust to you.. i hope that you find teh right docs to help you..

THank you so much Dr.... I am on synthroid.. 75 mg....Should I also betaking baby aspirin and low does heparin shots????  That is what I have seen in the research.... pls. help.

i have just recently been diagnosed with Hashimotos. I have gone thru the ringer to get a diagnosis with anything and more than 1 doctor I saw just kept telling me I was overweight! Well ... DUH! hah. Anyways, 2 doctors told me I had lupus, then said my probs were poly cystic ovaries ...everything in the world. Finally I found 2 wonderful doctors. My rheumotologist who discovered I did NOT have lupus and referred me to a endocrine dr. who ran test to find out I had hashimotos. That would of been helpful during my very rough pregnancy!! Anyways, my medication has been more than doubled. But I am lucky in having a very beautiful little girl who I wouldn't trade for the world. Come to find out its partially due to the fact I was on metformin for poly cystic ovaries (metformin can make you more fertile). My pregnancy was rough and she was born 3 weeks early...but my point is...please dont give up!! It's all worth it...you'll be in my prayers :)
