Hi!!! I posted a question a few days back...my 7AM ACTH=6, 7AM Serum Cortisol=9, DHEA-S=34....all levels on the low side. You recommended ACTH Stim Test and Adrenal Antibody Test, to check for Addison's. My thyroid levels are FT4=0.68, FT3=280, T4=10, TSH=1.6...all within normal limits. I spoke to my Endo Doc about this...and he said everything is within normal limits...not to worry. Should I get a second opinion...or am I over-reacting, he made me feel like I was "making a mountain out of a mole hill"!!! I'm considering finding a new doc...just want some input from you. Also how does estogen(1mg/daily) impact thyroid, cortisol and ACTH levels...I've read that it (estrogen) can impact blood levels. And, if estrogen does impact blood levels how long do you need to be off of it before you are "re-tested"??? Thanks Again for you input...this board is really a help. Jen in NJ

A second opinion is always reasonable. Estrogen may make thyroid requirements increase -- but a normal thyroid will accomodate (ie, a pt on meds may need more thyroid med). The am ACTH is suggestive against Addison's, but the cortisol of 9 is non-diagnostic (ie, could be normal, but >11 is when we usually conclude it's not addisons).
