What exactly is it? I was diagnosed with it and they say it is hypothyroid related. What are the symptoms? How do you know if you have it and is it related to not being able to sweat and overheating?

Hashimoto's is the most common cause of hypothyroidism. It is when the immune system attacks the thyroid causing a chronic inflammation and destruction of normal tissue with subsequent loss of function. Testing thyroid antibodies in the setting of hypothyroidism usually confirms the diagnosis.
Sometimes patients with hypothyroidism have temperature regulation problems, but not sweating is unusual...
