Hi

I am a 28 year old woman suffering from hashimoto's for almost 5 years.Right now i take 1.5 grains of armour thyroid.
Well i was taking synthyroid 100 mcg along with 10 mcg of cytomel, but never felt better and so i switched to armour.Actually Started with 1 grain of armour.Had my blood test done after three weeks and the results are as below.

Thyroid Anitbodies - 113
Thyroid Peroxidase - 4800
FT3 - 3.2
FT4 - .96
TSH - 5.5

Before i started my armour my TSH was 2.674.I am suprised that after starting armour why has my TSH gone up.Is the dose too low. And the major concern that i have is "what is Thyroid Peroxidase "and is it ok to have numbers way way far from the range. Please tell me what would be the ideal ranges for the TSH,FT3,FT4.Please let me know if you need any more details.

The dose may be a bit low -- I would consider 1 grain in am and another in early afternoon.  Target TSH is around 1.0.

The thyroperoxidase antibody means you have hashimoto's.  Would not read into the number being so high, just confirms that the immune system is attacking the thyroid (ie hashi)
