My recent (1/18/07) blood test results are:
Free
T4T4 test 1.10 (Range 0.59-2.19 ng/dL)
Free
T3 5.32 (Range 2.77-5.27 pg/mL)
TSHPituitary and tsh
Tsh 3.09 (Range 0.465-4.680 uIU/mL)
On 3/27/06 my
TSHPituitary and tsh
Tsh was 1.98
From what I can tell the AACE changed the
TSHPituitary and tsh
Tsh range to 0.3-3.0 in 2002 but many Drs. and labs are not aware of (or don't agree with?) this.
Finally, the results from a thyroid uptake test (completed yesterday) were:
6 hours - 19%
24 hours - 33.9%
The radiologist indicated that the thyroid pictures showed no abnormalities (nodules, etc.) but that my uptake results indicated a hyperthyroid state. From what I can tell, this kind of
TSHPituitary and tsh
Tsh level (normal or high) with elevated free T3 and uptake results is unusual, and perhaps not indicative of a problem with the thyroid directly.
I have some symptoms that are consistent with hyperthyroid and some that are more typical of hypothyroid.
Feedback would be appreciated.
