Hypothyroid and weightloss

There are several diet aids for hypothyroid.  Is there a good One out there?

No.  Diets boil down to two things - adequate nutrition and calories.  There is no clear answer to the "best" diet.  Generally restricting calories to 1000-1500/day (depending on gender, age, activity) with a balanced diet in combo with multivitamin, b-complex and calcium is recommended.

The marketed thyroid diets, in my opinion, are out to make a profit and are not backed by medical literature.

Hello. I was looking up HPA axis and found some good conversation regarding hypothyroidism! I was dx in 1996 after the birth of my third child. My results were up to 100 and I was told that this is the highest the test results go to (normal range approx. 2-5). I took and continue to take synthroid and do not have too many problems, with the exception of fatigue and I keep an eye on my weight. So far with a healthy diet, excercise and continuously learning, I am not doing too bad. I am a little concerned that not enough research is put into this area because it is not a life threatening disease, although many people have it. In my case antiboties attack my thyroid?? What else could they be attacking? I think it is particularily important to keep our emotions and stress in balance. I look forward to future conversations with you. I cannot always answer promptly, but I will try to keep up with some conversation.

The reason my nickname is balance is because anything else I chose was already taken. I thought in this case balance was appropriate.
