Medication and FAT

I've been on 125 mcg of Levoxyl for over 10 years.  I keep gaining and gaining.  I'm 5'2" and 244 lbs.  Diet only lasts a little........

Should I 'up' my dosage?

The dose depends on thyroid levels.  Also, most weight gain is not related to thyroid - it boils down to calories in/out.

Make them check all your levels not just the TSH....I found my TS4 was low even though TSH was fine and my weight gain has stopped but I can't lose either...and thats with a 1500 calorie diet and 5 days in the gym in classes.  IT's very annoying and depressing.....just started the ALLI program as its not a stimulant so it doesn't mess with your meds.  People talk about the horrible side effects but that seems to only happen if you don't follow the limits of 3g fat per 100 calories and no more than 15g of fat per meal.     There are many freedifferent online resources for recipes and diets by calorie restrictions.  Best of luck to you and I hope they get you straightened out.
