Hi I am 28 years old and been dealing with hypothroidism for 6 years. I cant seem to get it in
controlControl
Control rx. My
TSHPituitary and tsh
Tsh level has been up to 29 and is differant every time i go in, even when I have been on the same dose. I have been taking
Synthroid and was up to 300 mcg. Even at that level am still having severe symptoms and I don't know what to do. I recently went to see an Endoconoligist and he told me if I am falling asleep during the day that I must either have sleep apniea or narcalepsy. But he did do a blood test the results were :
TSHPituitary and tsh
Tsh .004
T3 209
T4T4 test 2.7
I am not sure what all that means and no one at the endocronolgy clinic will tell me. Please I can barely function it is like if I don't stay moving I will fall asleep. I need help. Can anyone give me some idea of what to do?
Hyperthyroidism can result from too much thyroid replacement medication and it can certainly cause fatigue and greatly increased need for sleep.
It is strange though that your TSH was at "29". Was this just before your current dosage adjustment?
I do know that "Free T-3" is usually about range of "2.3 to 4.2"
and T-3 Total about "4.5 to 12.0" (approx.). That's why I said your reading sounds really high on that one.
If you get that range, let us know.
I don't have my labs in front of me but I did get a free T3 test done this last time around. It was 149 and the range was something like 100 to 200 maybe. I bet the difference is that different labs are using different units for the lab report.
Of course the range on the report will be the ultimate guide
I've had thyroid panels done by three diff labs and they do use different sets of numbers but this is the first I've seen using hundreds like that. You guys probably have more up-to-date labs.
