drmark, I found your reply below on the questions page and appreciate your reply! YES, I do believe my hypoadrenalism is a sub-clinical form but ut seems to be affected by my Thyroid medication. I also have
orthostaticHypotension
Multiple system atrophy intoleranceCeliac disease - sprue
Gestational diabetes
Lactose intolerance BUT, this I've had since teen years (now age-42). This worsened after onset of Hashimoto's and was not corrected by thyroid med. Also, in spite of thyroid med. I still have slow resting heart rate/ low resting BP and waking up during the night, at times I feel my
vitalVital-d signs are really low. My
adrenalAddison’s disease
Adrenal gland biopsy
Adrenalectomy
Catecholamines - blood antibodies were negative. I kind of believe my Hashi's caused a slight worsening of my low-adrenal but can't find much on this except for "Schmidt's Syndrome" and my low-adrenal is not manifesting enough to be called that.
I'm hoping exercise (supposed to elevate
cortisolCortisol level slightly) and improved diet will give me improvement.
ShannieK on this forum, who has same problem, I'm concerned about too because her tests are showing
adrenalAddison’s disease
Adrenal gland biopsy
Adrenalectomy
Catecholamines - blood insufficiency yet, adrenal steroids even at low dose, can raise BP, glucose levels etc... and she already has those problems! This was my Doc's concern for me. This is what makes me think there is no treatment unless it really is full blown hypoadrenalism. I admit I may have been wrong in the past for knocking Docs for this particular area of not recognizing milder forms. It could be their concern about side effects of corticosteroids.
Thank You again drmark, please don't take our sometimes upsetness about less caring Docs.I've said this many times; There are many wonderful, caring Dr.s out there giving quality treatment!
