TSH levels okay....more weight gain even with nutritionalist and diet and exerci

I was diagnosed a few years ago with Hashimotos disease.  It took a very long time 2-3 years before they could get my levels right.  They have however..I continue to have symptoms and have been contnually gaing weight.  I see a nutritionalist and have lost a few pounds over the last four months. I watch everything I eat...no longer eat wheat...and have doubled my exercise and still can only lose a few ounces to a pound every six weeks or so.  I do not know what to do anymore?  The weight is effecting my life terribly.  I have gone from a size 4-6 to now a size 12. Please somebody help me.  They say my metabolism is shot...so I say what are my options....more diet changes...herbal remedies..medication...what please please please help me

It took me almost four years to feel right again after I got my levels straight. It is hard when someone goes from being very athletic and in physically good condition to feeling like Sponge Bob and having it last for so long but I kept pushing myself and have regained most of my former energy and feel for the most part as good as I can expect. My only advice and encouragment is to tell you to keep pushing yourself once you get your levels straight it could take another year before you really feel like you're on top of the world again but you will get there.

at least you have stopped gaining weight and although at a slow pace are starting to lose it-i think david is right and it will take awhile for your metabolism to read adjust itself-i know first hand how hard it is when the weight doesn't seem to want to come off-but take heart in the fact it's comming off slow and should stay off-"crash diets and yo-yo'ing" will only add to your metobolism problems-take care & hang in there

I think there a  lot of common links between all of us who have a thyroid problem.  I just don't understand how they cant' suggest or do anything else to help us.  I know about the days where it hurts to move or even tie your shoe.  I have to many of these days.  I just hope at some point we can all be helped and I guess unitl then we have each other who understand each other.  Because many people in my life do not understand.  Especially the doctors
