TSH normal, What else could goiter be?

by Star7184, Aug 25, 2005 12:00AM
Hi! I'be posted before about a golf-ball sized goiter I have on the base of my right thyroid lobe.  I was finally able to get to my doctor after a cancellation and I was told that what I have is a somewhat soft partial goiter and that I should have the bloodwork and ultrasound done.  I had my bloodwork done and it came out normal (TSH=1.07, white blood cells=10.8) and tomorrow I am having an ultrasound.  So I have two questions:

1) If it is not a hormonal problem, what else could it be?

2) What should I look out for in the ultrasound?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Suebee! I'm glad you responded! I'm having some pains in the right side of my chest when I get nervous or excited and it feels as if there is something in my throat.  The doctor says the goiter is soft, but I feel it sooo hard! I don't know what to think
