Tapazole or Tapdin?

by anneseno, Jun 28, 2009 02:10PM
Dear Doctor,
My endo has put me on 10mg of Tapdin for a month and a half.  I still have a stock of 5mg tapazole from my previous endo.   Will it be ok to take 10mg of  tapazole instead?  Are they both Methimazole with different brand names?

Thank you very much and more power.

Tapdin is methimazole -- it is a brand I believe made in the Philipines.  Tapazole (US brand of methimazole) and Tapdin should be inter-changeable, but alert your current doctor of exactly what you are taking to confirm this is okay for your situation.
