Thyroid Dilema

by HealthConcerned, Oct 16, 2007 09:55AM
In 1996 my T3 was low. This was the first time a doctor could diagnose my thyroid condition. I was put on cytomel. The doctors in my current city have taken me off T3 and I am on levoxyl 88mcg. My weight has gone up 65 lbs. My body temp is all over the place. It avgs between 96 & 97.9. I feel awful all the time. I now have all of the symptoms listed on the Wilson's syndrome list, except I have had a complete hysterectomy when I was 29. I have pernicious anemia as well, have developed ashtma/COPD after they took away the T3. My nerves are getting severely damaged . I had to have surgery on my right leg paretoneal nerve 2 months ago. I had an MRI last week & I have 4 bulging discs in C-spine. I had a bad fall back in end of March causing the latter nerve damages.  Could all of this be linked to my messed up thyroid? I can't seem to find any who practice the Wilson's syndrome treatment in Wichita Kansas. Can you give suggest where I might get the help I need. Desperate.

Hypothyroidism does not cause bulging disks.

I do not recommend following Wilson's syndrome protocols.  However, it does seem you did better on T3, so perhaps finding someone who can combine some cytomel and levoxyl, but not over-treat to make you hyperthyroid, would be a good idea.
