Thyroid Peroxidase

I do not know what my lab work means.  It was a Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) Ab <10 IU/mL.  Can you tell me what that means?
Thanks

It means the immune system is not attacking the thyroperoxidase enzyme --- one of the most common tests for autoimmune (ie graves & hashimotos) thyroid disease.

Sometimes things get kind of confusing.  I did a search on Thyroid Peroxidase and they said the presence of TP antibodies suggests that the cause of the disease is due to auto immune disorders such as Hashimoto`s thyroiditis.   There are quite a few sites for you to browse and see if you can get anything else.  Don`t you love it when things aren`t explained?
