Thyroid Symptoms

by Metairie, Sep 01, 2006 12:00AM
I need help. I have been experiencing all the symptoms, I've read about, of Hypothyroidism. I have developed a facial rash, irritability, lack of libido, weight gain, fatigue, depression, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, decrease inconcentration and some memory loss, cramps, unhealthy nails, dry skin, irritability, low motivation and ambition. Lately my ankles have been swelling as well as my hands.
I have been to the doctor over the years, but have been told that everything is due to menopause, I am a 41 year old hispanis female.

My lab work reads as follow:

TSH 1.107
THYROXINE (T4) 7.6
T3 UPTAKE 29
FREE THYROXINE INDEX 2.2

Is this on my mine only?
Can anybody relate or am I just imagining things?

Waiting for an answer,

Metairie

The thyroid labs are fine and it is unlikely that the thyroid is the cause of your symptoms.  Thyroid antibodies would complete the eval of the thyroid being the root cause.
