Thyroid affected after surgery?

by momofgnb, Jul 05, 2007 12:00AM
Approximately 9 days ago I had surgery to treat sleep apnea...tonsils, UPPP, chin advancement.  While my recovery in those areas has been on schedule, I have had a tough time with being very shaky and not sleeping.  I have been on synthroid for hypothyroid since 1997.  Is it possible that surgery and anesthesia has caused me to have these symptoms?  The doctor gave me lorezapam to take to help me sleep at night, but I don't want to make this a habit.  About how long should I give my body to level things out again?

It may take 1-2 weeks.  Would test the thyroid levels to make sure the synthroid dose is ok and there is no unexpected hyperthyroidism.
