Sag77, I read your replies under our earlier heading. I'm sorry you are going through the illness and frustration of trying to get it figured out. I have some adrenal insufficiency along with my Hashimoto's but unless the adrenal antibodies test I get done Tuesday, reveals autoimmune, I will probably not get treatment for it. I went through the same thing early on, thinking I might have MS, Lupus etc... but eliminated most of these through blood tests. When I got on higher doses of thyroid med., my symptoms diminished significantly but I still have some of the adrenal ones.
I thought I would let you know about a saliva-cortisol test, offered by Great Smokies Diagnostic Labs, Inc. which they market under the name "BodyBalance StressCheck". It only costs about $55.00 and tests your 8:00AM & 12:00PM dhea/cortisol levels. It is as accurate as a blood-cortisol test. It was through this test, that I found I had low-cortisol levels. This was confirmed by a 24-hour unrinary test, I followed it with. A company that sells these is www.testsymptomsathome.com but if you have insurance, you might prefer to get it done through your Dr.. My Dr. knew GSDL, Inc. was a reputable blood lab, so he took my test results seriously, from that home saliva test and it was much less expensive than if I had it done through my Dr.s lab because I'm self-employed, with no insurance.
I hope they get to the cause of your symptoms soon!    JimLow

Thank you so very much.  I have an appt. with my endo tomorrow and will request to have the tests done.  Hopefully, he will agree.  My insurance is definately not great, but I do have some for the moment.  I couldn't imagine going through such health problems and not having insurance.  I don't know how you do it!  I go through anxiety just when I get bills after mix ups and finding out I have to request medically necessary service extensions, etc. to have them covered.  I'm currently awaiting disability appeal.  So, we'll see how that turns out.
I am currently on Florinef and Altenolol for my hypotension problem.  I noticed that Florinef is one of the meds. used to treat the low sodium levels in Addison's.  I thought that was interesting.
