Too High Dose Cytomel-Back Pain?

by yorkieville, Jul 22, 2007 12:00AM
Can too high of a dose of Cytomel for a long period of time, say, three and a half years, cause back pain, and muscle loss?

by Mark Lupo, M.D., Jul 23, 2007 12:00AM
Too much of any thyroid hormone (ie hyperthyroidism) can damage muscle over time but this is usually reversible with correcting the problem.  The back pain is less likely.  The muscle loss is usually quadriceps weakness.
