I am being treated for
panicPanic disorder
Panic disorder with agoraphobia attacks, anxiety and depression these last two years, though I have suffered for 10.
A few months back, my g.p. added a
TSHPituitary and tsh
Tsh test to my
CBC. It came back 5.8. He said, however, it was not that high, and that I should not be concerned.
I decided to research its meaning anyway and discovered that hypothyroidism (even subclinical) can cause these and other symptoms. I don't kmow why I had not been tested ages ago when I complained to another g.p of what I see (now) as classic hypo symptoms ( tiredness, cold, hair falling out etc)
AND, I don't know why my thyroid status was not investigated before I began psych meds. I have since heard trhat it is standard to check thyroid in people with depression.
Unfortunatley, my g.p. does not see any reason to treat me unless I were a 10+
TSHPituitary and tsh
Tsh, which is old

My question is: will the psych symptoms resolve themselves if I get treament for hypothyroidism? If so, I am determined to fight hard to find an M.D. (pref an endo) who will treat me for it.
Also, I have seen that there is a relatinship betweeen hasimoto's and anxiety, but I don't really know why. What is going on with my
