Worried about my daughters TSH level

by MsLynn, Apr 20, 2007 12:00AM
My daughter had her thyroid checked. Her TSH is 2.224, her T4 is 9.2 and her T3 uptake is 29, and her free Thyroxine index is 2.7. She never wants to wake up, she is cold all the time, her hair falls out, she has lost interest in daily activities, she has had problems with her bowels, and she is easily angered. Her school work has dropped and she can't seem to get anything done. I just started on Synthroid over 2 months ago and have really been helped by it. Should I look into this for her as well?

The levels look pretty good -- would check antibodies to finish the thyroid eval -- if negative, then would pursue other options and not consider thyroid treatment.

She needs to have FT-3 and FT- and TSI and TPO antibodies tests to rule out autoimmune thyroid disease.
