choking, swollen throat

by sbb, Nov 26, 2006 12:00AM
My throat suddenly started feeling swollen almost shut and I am having trouble swollowing. When I drink, fluids go up into my nose and food feels stuck in my throat. The left side of my neck hurts and my lips feel like I've had novacain that is wearing off. My tongue feels slightly like I've burned it. What's going on?

Go see your doctor.  Impossible to know without an evaluation.  Unlikely to be a goiter, but a thyroid ultrasound would exclude this -- need a general eval first.

I had an allergic reaction to medicine, and had exactly the same symtoms.
Did  this pass? You may have developed an allergy to something.
I hope you get answers soon, as that sounds serious.
