converting dosage from synthyroid to armour thyroid

I've been taking synthyroid 75mcg for 2yrs.  My natural doc suggested me to change to armour thyroid because my T3free is low (but reference range).  My primary doc perscribed me 90mg armour to start.  Isn't this dosage too much to start, and especially I am taking only 75mcg synthyroid.  Should I find ENDO in my area because my primary doc seemes to be not into this.
