hair loss

I am 43 years old and presently have hyperthyrodism, I am not losing excess weight, as a matter of fact I am on a low carb diet to keep my weight down, but the back of my hair has been thinning out very badly, even while on PTU. I have been using the HF37 vitamins for 4 months now and that is defintelty not working.  In two weeks I am schedule to do a lobectomy.  The question is... is there any hope of my hair growing back after the surgery?  Or, will it continue to fall out after the surgery? Is my hair loss due to the hyperthyrodism? If, so, then what can I do to stop my hair from falling out?

Hair loss has many different causes - thyroid problems can cause hair loss so this is likely to improve once the hypoerthyroidism is resolved.  The hair loss lags behind 2-3 months from the cause or correction -- so give it time.

Stress is the most common cause -- and illness, etc is certainly a stress.
