Dr found I had a hyperthyroid a month ago.. It has raised my heart rate in the 100's.. I am on methmizole twice a day, was on it 3 times a day.. If they decide to kill it, what is the precedure they take? Also I am on a blood thinner..

If it is Graves, then we often use methimazole to see if we can achieve remission w/o "killing" the thyroid.  The dose is slowly decreased over 6-18 months.

Otherwise, radioactive iodine or surgery would be definitive treatment.

If this is toxic nodular goiter, then surgery or radioactive iodine would be better options as methimazole would not result in remission.
