hypothyroid or not?

hi, i recently went to the doctor because i have been so tired.falling asleep while driving and everything...she tested me for all kinds of stuff and the only thing that came back was my TSH levels were 6.1 which she said was high. I had more blood work done a month later, tsh, free t4 & t3 and antibodies and also had an ultrasound. The medical assistant called me today and said everything came back normal but the ultrasound showed I had a goiter. How can i have so many symptoms, plus a goiter, and high, but a month later normal TSH levels...My grandma and great grandma also had goiters.

Would discuss details of this with an endocrinologist.  The TSH may still be in the high-normal range and perhaps levothyroxine would be useful in the setting of goiter.

This degree of fatigue/sleepiness is also concerning for sleep apnea - unrelated to the thyroid -- talk w/ your doctor about this.
