immunocompromised from thyroid?

I have been treated for hypothyroidism since the earliy 90's and it seems that it is always off balance more than it should be. I was diagnosed years ago with thyroiditis. Is this the same as Hashimoto's Disease? My TSH seems to be okay at the moment .I have moved to aother state and my records are hard to get because my doctor passed away. Is there something else that should be checked to know my thyoid is off, other than TSH. I have also been diagnosed as being immunocompromised and I have a pulmonary nodule and been exposed to Aspergillus.I also had a lung biopsy in 04 that said it was consistant with Histoplasmosis. The urine antigen is neg. and now since 1-07 i am serum positive for Aspergillus I am told my body should fight this on it's own but I have been very ill for 5 months now. I just wondered if there could be something underlying with the thyroid. I just don't understand why some doctors have said just hypothyroid and another said Hashimoto's. Is there a difference?

There is not likely a direct connection b/w thyroid and histo/aspergillus infections. Would test thyroid anitbody panel. Most thyroiditis is hashi and most hashimoto patients have positive antibodies -- that would help sort this out.
