You need to have a new thyroid panel. It is kind of hard to look at the numbers without the ranges, because each thyroid test is different and each have a different range.
I had the FNA and they didnt inform me if it eas hashimotos they saidfollicular cells, hurthle cells , cytologic findings suggest a follicular lesion favoring a moderatly hyperplastic and patially degenersting colloid nodule what ever that all means! haha so the ranges were -
thyroid peroxidase antibodies <2
t4 4.5-12.5
t3 uptake- 27-37
free t4- 0.8-1.8
tsh serum- didnt list a range
so that was back in december and the antibodies were over a year ago. Need to have it run again.
rvrrat28,
As Christine01 said, it's better to have results and the ranges too. Do you have the actual print-out of your labs?
The range for example would be: T-3 Uptake Range; 24.0 to 39.0, result;"33.2". If you have these ranges, write us back with them.
Your TSH looks like good range @ 0.74 because the range is usually 0.5 to 5.0 however, with autoimmune thyroiditis, hormones can fluctuate greatly.
If you have nodules, I can't imagine this being anything else but autoimmune thyroiditis, so unfortunately, you'll probably have to be re-tested about every few months or so if symptoms persist. They also have a test called Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA), which is how they get a small tissue sample of your nodule, to see if it is caused by Hashimoto's. You might ask the Doc about this too.
Send ranges to us if you have them.
That's all greek to me too but when comparing your lab ranges to your previous post, they all look to be normal-range. That is strange because nodules are almost always due to autoimmune thyroid disorders. You are having symptoms, so I would keep re-checking and let the Doc do all other recommended tests until you get answers. I't's hard to be patient but answers will come!
Hi, how bout the thyroglobin antibody test, as i've found and researched, and now have found in my own labs, they do generally two antibody tests to check for auto immune thyroid disease, such as Graves, and Hashimoto's, My perioxidase came back high and my other came back normal, Sometimes, I hear that one of the anibody tests can come back normal, even if the other is high. Did you have both of these tests ran or just the perioxidase or however you spell it( Ha Ha)
i dont think they did a thyroglobin test .. i should ask about that one. but if the range was <2 and I had a 4 i am a little high right? I mean the endo did mention hashimotos but when he said it , he acted like it was no big deal.. " oh you might have a little hashimotos " is what he said. and I am thinking I need to have it done again it has been a year and I am curious if it has changed at all.
thank heavens I am not crazy . I litterally started thinking that sometimes, like could this all be in my head? but ya know like I told my doctor... I have a great life 2 beautiful kids why on earth would I want to feel like this all the time! I am not depressed or anxious! something is wrong i know i know it. anyone relate ? thanks for all the support everyone
Hi, I just got some results back today when an Endocrinologist office called me to "make sure I was going to keep my appt" in a concerned voice. I told them, yes, but wanted to know why. They stated that my antibody level was 1,229. They said the normal range was 0-40. Can anyone tell me what this means? Or what I should ask them when I go to him?

I sure would! I don't think there's such a thing as "a little Hashimoto's", it is an irreversable, progressive disease!
