thyroid antibodies

My TSH tests came back negative but I have a case of hives since mid February 2009 and cannot seem to get rid of them.  I saw an allergy specialist and he tested my thyroid for antibodies and the result came back of 62.4.  Should I be concerned about the high result of antibodies?  I believe the normal range is 0-14.4.  He has put me steriods to clear up the hives as well as 180 mg of Fexofenadine HCL one a day and 30 mg of Doxepin at night.  Since being off the steriods the hives came back and he has now included 20 mg of Doxepin to be taken in the middle of the day.  I have done this for 4 days now and still the hives persist.  Is my thyroid antibodies really me problem?  Do you recommend me trying anything else to relieve the hives?

this is unclear.  there may be an association between autoimmune thyroid disease and hives - occassionally there is benefit with levothyroxine treatment even with normal baseline thyroid function testing (TSH).
