Hashimoto's and High Blood Pressure

I have had Hashimoto's all my life, and I turned 50 last year.  My blood pressure used to be very low.  I don't eat additional sodium or any processed foods if I can help it.  Suddenly my blood pressure has elevated to level one hypertension.  Is this part of the thyroid problem?  Are there any blood pressure medicines I should steer away from?  I have no insurance, and I can't talk to a specialist about this, so I appreciate this forum and the doctor's advice.  Thanks so much.

If the thyroid levels are controlled, then the blood pressure is most likely a separate problem.  There is no specific medication to avoid.  Work with your general doctor regarding treating this hypertension.
