Hypoparathyroidism

I recently had my parathyroid levels checked by my primary and the result came back 4 L (10-65). My doctor did not order ionized calcium or magnesium and my phosphorus was ok. I'm wondering if I should recheck the parathyroid level even though the phosphorus is ok. Thanks.

If the calcium is normal, then often these low PTH levels are misleading or represent lab error or specimen handling problems.  If the phosphorus was normal then it is even less likely this was a true low PTH.  You should probably have it rechecked to confirm.
