Thyroglossal Duct Cyst? Removal and Recovery

Hello, about a month ago i developed a swollen (what I thought was at the time, gland) in my neck.  I had had another one about a week earlier under my jaw, near my ear and it went away, so I assumed I was fighting off some kind of infection.  The new one that developed, right under my neck (where it meets my throat) is now the size of a pea and has never gone away.  My family physician believes it to be a Thyroglossal Duct Cyst and has me going to an ENT tomorrow.  Everything I'm reading on this is scaring me.  My family has a history of cancer, and I'm 32.  I've never had any thyroid problems and just had blood tests done last July concerning that and they were fine.  If the ENT recommends this to be removed, would my recovery be a lot less since it is smaller?  How long?  I see a lot of people have had this at different stages of their lives, but what can I expect from this Dr. tomorrow?  Will he be able to do testing for me so I know right away?  Has anyone dealt with any Dr.'s at Missouri Baptist in St. Louis?  Thanks.

Most TGD cysts are removed by ENT with a Sistrunk procedure.
Recovery is usually 3-7 days, but talk with your surgeon.
