Thyroid & Nodule Size

Can someone tell me the normal size of a thyroid?
My thyroid is 5.1 x 2.1 x 1.7cm (right) and left is 6.4 X 2.8 x 2.5 cm.
The nodule is 3.8 x 3.2 x 2.2 cm.

Are there symptons associated with having a large nodule on the lobe, such as breathing difficulties.

The right lobe is normal, the left lobe is about twice the normal size with a nodule that is about an inch and a half.  This is a fairly large nodule that needs further evaluation such as fine needle aspiration and investigation into whether or not this may be causing symptoms of trouble breathing, swallowing or voice.
