enlarged pituitary gland

an mri scan has shown i have an enlarged pituitary gland what would cause this i am waiting to have some blood tests they are for
pro lactin
fsh
igf
and cortisol
can you give me an idea

This can be due to severe hypothyroidism or adrenal insufficiency with resultant over-production of TSH (for thyroid) and/or ACTH (adrenal).  Other causes include pituitary lumps (adenoma) or normal variant.  A complete look at the pituitary hormones and a followup MRI with focus on the pituitary is the usually course of action.
