It is important to have calcium measured at the same time parathyroid hormone is measured.

For hortonpnky -- if the calcium and parathyroid are still high, then you need to see an expert parathyroid surgeon to find the problem -- check out parathyroid.com for more info.

For Ms Janey P -- check the calcium level, if normal, continue with the neurological evaluation.

I had parathyroid surgery 2004 for removal of an adenoma.  The surgery seemed to go well.  Approximately 2 months after surgery, I began to experience numbness/tingling in my right arm and leg, which I describe more as a tingling feeling.  I have been to a number of doctos including a neurologist who did a lot of tests including nerve conduction, a physical therapist for treatment.  As of today I still have no relief from this problem and no answers.  Could this somehow be related to the Parathyroid surgery?  Please help, I dont' know where to turn now.
