lump after thyroid surgery

I had a left thyroid lobectomy last Friday, one week ago ( my right side was removed 1 1/2 yrs ago) My incision seems to be healing fine however there is a lump about 2 inches above and at the left end of the incision. This lump is about the size of a pea and extremely painful all the time, even more so when it is touched, literally sends me through the roof!
I never had this trouble the last time, and I am wondering what you think this can be? Should I be worried? Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
